Today we went for our nuchal translucency ultrasound scan. All babies look perfect. This test looks for any indication of down syndrome and a few other chromosonal abnormalities.
The babies continue to grow at an even pace with each other and according to their age. This is very important for our babies because they share a placenta and one baby may start taking all the nutrients from the other. They are about 3 inches now. Mom just starting gaining weight. About 4 pounds I think. She is very proud of those four pounds though. She does have a little belly. It just became noticable to us that know how thin she was to begin with. She even thinks maybe she has felt them move a couple times internally. We are anxiously awaiting their movement on the outside.
Our next appt. is just a two week check. Then we have a detailed ultrasound scan two weeks after that to look at all the anatomy in detail to make sure everything is normal. We could find out the sex of the babies then BUT we agreed to wait until on the "The Doctors" show we are going to be on. Oh, the anticipation we are feeling!!! I want to go buy baby things so badly and decorate the nursery and it is so hard to wait until the end of July or begining of August. We have so so much to buy too. What's a girl to do I ask?
I keep dream shopping online and believe me as soon as we find out I'm hitting the baby stores.
For our other big family news our oldest daughter graduated from high school this weekend. I hope she enjoyed our weekend and her graduation day as much as we did. I will remember her graduation day for the rest of my life. Looking at her sitting there waiting to receive her diploma looking so beautiful and grown up. Such a bittersweet moment. The pride I felt I can't even describe. It seems like yesterday I was giving birth to her and now she is moving on to college and done with high school. A whole new chapter for her and us. We know she will be so successful in her life. She has made her whole family so proud of her.
